A Contemporary Haven

Eric Kuster - Raboes-29

A sculpted home where stone, craftsmanship, and light create an atmosphere of understated realm, from the first step in the hall to the stillness of the pool.

This contemporary haven is conceived as a sequence of quiet moments. The brief asked for serenity without simplicity a home that feels composed, tactile, and deeply connected to daily life. Our response is a restrained palette, precise geometry, and bespoke craftsmanship that reveals itself gradually as you move through the rooms.

Arrival is measured and calm. A ribbed timber door opens to a soft, elliptical rug and curated artworks. Light slips in above the entry, grazing plastered walls and drawing the eye forward.

The staircase curves away like a ribbon; at its base, a circular ottoman grounds a vignette of ceramics and natural crystal, while a floating installation introduces a motif that returns throughout the home: the interplay of curve and line.

In the dining room, an oval table with a subtly patinated top invites long evenings.

Overhead, a chandelier of translucent discs diffuses light like a soft canopy.

The composition balances weight and float: solid volumes below, delicate movement above.

Throughout, we designed from the inside out. Proportions, storage, lighting, and circulation were refined first; finishes were then layered to amplify the architecture rather than compete with it. The result is a safe haventhat feels composed and deeply personal, crafted for the rhythm of everyday life, with moments of quietness where it matters.

At the heart of the house sits a wellness level where architecture and art converge. The pool hall is defined by rhythm and reflection: a book-matched stone installation acts as a focal artwork, while a procession of stone pilasters frames sculptural bronze vessels and pendant sconces. The ceiling slats draw the eye along the water and control acoustics; light plays across the surface in calm, deliberate bands.

Materials mirror the rest of the home plaster, stone, timber, bronze so the experience remains cohesive from living room to spa.
